Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Semporna – Transfer & First Ocean Experience

Your adventure begins as you arrive in Semporna and transfer by boat to the iconic offshore dive rig—your home for the next few days. Rising from the open sea, this one-of-a-kind structure sets the tone for a truly unique island escape. After check-in and a short briefing, you won’t have to wait long to get in the water. Depending on your arrival time and sea conditions, kick things off with a check dive or relaxed snorkeling session, giving you your first glimpse of Semporna’s vibrant underwater world.

As the sun sets over the horizon, settle into the rhythm of island life with dinner and uninterrupted ocean views.

Day 2: Island Hopping & Full-Day Diving / Snorkeling

Wake up to endless blue and get ready for a full day at sea. After breakfast, head out by boat to nearby islands such as Mabul and Kapalai—famous for their rich marine biodiversity.

Spend the day enjoying multiple guided dives or snorkeling sessions, exploring colorful coral reefs, spotting sea turtles, and drifting alongside schools of tropical fish. Each site offers something different, from macro marine life hidden in the reefs to wider reefscapes teeming with activity.

Between sessions, relax on the boat, enjoy lunch, and soak in the scenery before continuing your underwater exploration. Return to the dive rig in the late afternoon for dinner and a well-earned rest.

Day 3: More Diving & Chance to Explore Sipadan

Another day, another opportunity to dive deeper into Semporna’s incredible waters. Today brings the chance to visit Sipadan Island (subject to permit availability)—one of the world’s most celebrated dive destinations.

If permits are secured, expect an unforgettable experience with dramatic drop-offs, swirling barracuda, reef sharks, and countless turtles. If not, the journey continues across equally beautiful reefs around Mabul and Kapalai, ensuring a full day of rewarding dives or snorkeling.

With activities continuing throughout the day, you’ll make the most of your final full day in the ocean before returning to the rig to relax and reflect on the experience.

Day 4: Departure – Return to Semporna

Enjoy a final breakfast surrounded by open sea before checking out. Transfer back by boat to Semporna, marking the end of your island adventure—leaving with unforgettable memories of life above and below the water.

Since October 1, 2022, diving at Sipadan requires Advanced Open Water certification and is limited to 2 dives per day. Entry depends on a permit from Sabah Parks, so it’s not guaranteed. If unavailable, you’ll still get 3 boat dives at nearby islands like Mabul or Kapalai. Sipadan fees (entrance and diving) are not included and must be paid separately before departure.
The best way to secure a Sipadan permit is to book at least a 3-night diving package, as permits are limited and prioritized for divers. Even then, approval depends on Sabah Parks and is not fully guaranteed. Once issued, the permit is non-refundable, non-transferable, and cannot be changed, so if you miss your assigned day, you lose it. If you don’t plan to use your permit, you must inform in advance or you’ll still be charged.
