Sandakan: 3D2N Hilltop Lodge Sukau Rainforest Wildlife Journey and Cruises

Day 1: Into the River & Sunset Adventure

Start your journey with a scenic 2-hour drive from Sandakan (Teahouse, airport, or Sepilok area), followed by a short hike up approximately 600 steps (100m elevation) to reach the summit. Upon arrival, relax with a welcome drink and enjoy panoramic views before lunch.

In the late afternoon (around 4 PM), set out on a 2-hour sunset river cruise—one of the best times for wildlife spotting. Keep an eye out for proboscis monkeys, pygmy elephants, macaques, and a variety of birdlife along the Kinabatangan River. Return to the lodge for dinner and unwind for the evening. Overnight stay at the resort.

Day 2: Jungle Trek & River Safari Adventure

Wake up to the sounds of the rainforest and enjoy breakfast with scenic river views. Afterward, set off on a guided 2-hour jungle trek along a hilltop trail, where you’ll explore diverse ecosystems and search for wildlife hidden within the Kinabatangan rainforest.

Return to the lodge for lunch and some downtime—relax on your private balcony or watch for movement in the treetops. Later in the afternoon, head out on another river safari, where your guide will help spot crocodiles, hornbills, orangutans, proboscis monkeys, and other fascinating wildlife (sightings may vary).

End the day with dinner and free time to unwind. Overnight at the resort.

Day 3: Farewell to the Wild

Enjoy a final breakfast overlooking the rainforest before packing up and saying goodbye to your jungle retreat. Check-out is around 8:00 AM, followed by your return transfer to Sandakan—whether to the airport, Sepilok area, or Sandakan town—bringing your unforgettable Kinabatangan adventure to a close.
