Turtle Island is a secret gems within the National Park, a well known marine sanctuary that was established in 1977 sponsored by government Their efforts are essential as sea turtles encounter a variety of challenges, from human activities such as fishing and pollution to the dangers posed by natural predators. It is expected that merely 1 in 1,000 hatchlings will thrive into adulthood. The island serves as a living laboratory collaborating with marine biologists conduct ongoing research, eg, monitoring how sand temperature affects the sex of hatchlings—a key factor in ensuring healthy future turtle population. Itinerary
Day 1: Night of the turtle
Begin your adventure with a convenient hotel pickup at sandakan hotel or airport directly. Travel in comfort in bus or van with air-conditioning. Board the boat at the sandakan harbour and set sail for the turtle island. Keep a lookout for the beautiful sea view and blue that outside of the boat. Upon arriving at the island, check in at your cabin, your day is entirely yours to enjoy. An island that perfect for enjoying in the water and catching some amazing views while snorkelling, if the weather's on point. Following dinner, the rangers will gently notify you of the arrival of a turtle. Observe the delicate process of egg-laying, explore the hatchery, and perhaps engage in the graceful release of hatchlings. Learn about the life cycle and behavior of the turtles while observing them respectfully in their natural habitat, and gain a deeper insight into the external threats to their population. Behold the miracle of life, witness the tender moments of creation, and embrace the chance to set the young ones free into the world. Throughout the nesting observation, our certified local guide will share turtle insights.
Day 2: Savoring the Last Moments
After breakfast, depart turtle Island and return to the Sandakan with drop off at Sandakan Airport or at sandakan hotel inclusive.
ADD ON: Experience sandakan stunning world-renowned Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre to witness the feeding of the iconic Orang Utan. Search for orang utan, monkey, insect, flora and fauna that thrive in the enchanting landscape of borneo. the magnificent mixed dipterocarp forest offers a natural home to the Orang Utans, which slowly become less dependent on their twice-daily feeding of milk and bananas at the centre. then, savor a mouth-watering lunch onboard and relax with beverages from the resort. continue explore Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre. Explore the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Center further. Make your second stop to Sun Bear, where you may seek for and see bears up close, view the humid tropical rainforest plants and landscapes, and snap pictures of the stunning surroundings. From the walkway, visitors will be able to observe sunbears as they play and wander around outdoor forest habitats. Return to the Sandakan hotel or airport with transfer included estimated return time 12.30 pm when this add-on is over.

Used of camera in the evening is chargeable at RM10. (Strictly without flash) The use of video camera after 6pm is strictly prohibited. It is to be paid whilst on the island to the park directly. Fee is subject to change without prior notice.
