Discover Borneo's wildlife on a 2-day, 1-night journey from Sandakan to Sepilok and the Kinabatangan River. Visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, enjoy lunch before travelling to the Kinabatangan River for a wildlife cruise, and stay overnight at Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort.

Itinerary

Day 1: Sepilok Wildlife & Kinabatangan River

Start with pickup from your Sandakan hotel or Sandakan Airport and travel to the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre for the orangutan feeding experience. Walk along the elevated wooden boardwalks to a viewing platform and observe the rainforest wildlife. Continue to the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about rescued sun bears and their conservation. Enjoy lunch at Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort before travelling approximately 2 hours to the Kinabatangan River. Board a motorised boat for a river cruise and search for orangutans, macaques, pygmy elephants, birds and other wildlife. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight accommodation.

Day 2: Check-out & Continue Your Journey

Check out from the resort and continue your onward journey from the Sepilok area. Arrange your own transportation if travelling elsewhere.
