A two-day, one-night journey into Borneo's rainforest, combining Sepilok's celebrated wildlife centres with a wildlife cruise along the Kinabatangan River. The tour visits the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre before heading inland for an afternoon on the Kinabatangan, one of Southeast Asia's richest wildlife corridors. The day concludes with a comfortable overnight stay at Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort, set amid the sounds of the surrounding rainforest.

Itinerary

Day 1: Sepilok Wildlife and Kinabatangan River

The day begins with a transfer from a Sandakan hotel or Sandakan Airport to Sepilok. Boardwalks wind through the rainforest to the viewing platform at the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre, where semi-wild orangutans gather for the daily feeding session. Next comes the Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre, home to the world's smallest bear species and its rescued residents. Following lunch at Borneo Sepilok Rainforest Resort, a two-hour journey inland leads to the Kinabatangan River for a motorised boat cruise, scanning the riverbanks for orangutans, macaques, pygmy elephants, hornbills, and other wildlife. The evening concludes back at the lodge with dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Check-out & Continue Your Journey

Check-out takes place at the resort, bringing the tour to a close in the Sepilok area. Onward transportation is not included, and travellers continuing elsewhere from Sepilok should arrange their own transfer.
